StudyZone is a student notes-sharing platform where learners can browse, download, and contribute study material for college courses and competitive exams such as JEE, NEET, banking, and government exams. In this policy, "StudyZone", "we", "us", and "our" refer to the platform and its administrators.

2. Information we collect

• Account details: your first and last name, email address, password (stored only in encrypted, hashed form), and the study details you choose to add, such as your study category, college, branch, year, exam, or target.
• Content you upload: note files (PDF or DOCX), titles, summaries, subjects, tags, author names, and other details you enter on the upload form.
• Requests and messages: information you send when you raise a request, report content, or contact the admin team, including any contact email you provide.
• Usage information: downloads, download credits, submission status, and basic technical data such as IP address, browser type, and device information collected through server logs.
• Cookies and browser storage: essential cookies that keep you signed in and protect forms, and browser storage used to remember settings and track the free downloads available to guests.

3. How we use your information

• To create and manage your account and keep you signed in securely.
• To review, approve, publish, or reject the notes you submit, and to award download credits for approved contributions.
• To show relevant notes and keep track of downloads and remaining credits.
• To respond to your requests, support questions, reports, and copyright complaints.
• To detect abuse, spam, fraud, and security issues, and to enforce our Terms of use.
• To understand how the platform is used so we can improve it.

4. What becomes public

Pending submissions are visible only to you and the admin team. When a note is approved, the file and its details — title, summary, subject, category, author name, and related study details — are published and can be viewed or downloaded by anyone visiting StudyZone. Do not put your phone number, address, ID numbers, or other sensitive personal information inside notes or note descriptions.

5. Sharing of information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only:

• With service providers who host our servers, database, and files, strictly to operate StudyZone.
• When required by law, a court order, or a valid request from a government authority.
• To protect the rights, safety, and security of StudyZone, our users, or the public.

6. Data retention

We keep account information for as long as your account is active. Rejected or deleted submissions are removed from our review storage within a reasonable time. Approved notes may remain published after you close your account unless you ask us to remove them. Logs and records needed for security or legal reasons may be kept for a limited period.

7. Security

We use reasonable safeguards such as hashed passwords, secure session cookies, CSRF protection, and restricted admin access. No online service can be completely secure, so please use a strong, unique password and keep your login details private.

8. Your rights and choices

• You can view and update your profile details from your dashboard.
• You can edit or delete your pending submissions from My submissions.
• You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to remove a published note you uploaded, by contacting us.
• You can clear cookies in your browser, though you may then be signed out and some features may not work.

9. Children

StudyZone is intended for students aged 13 and above. If you are under 18, please use StudyZone with the permission and guidance of a parent or guardian. If we learn that we hold data from a child without appropriate consent, we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as StudyZone grows. The "Last updated" date above shows when it was last changed. Continuing to use StudyZone after an update means you accept the revised policy.
