SGPA and CGPA Calculator
Use SGPA to average the subjects in one semester, or CGPA to average all your semesters. Add a row for each subject or semester.
Your SGPA is
8.67
From 12 credits in total.
How SGPA and CGPA are calculated
SGPA is a credit-weighted average. Multiply each subject's credits by its grade point, add the results, then divide by the total credits in the semester.
CGPA works the same way across semesters: multiply each semester's SGPA by its total credits, add them, then divide by all the credits so far. Subjects and semesters with more credits count for more.
Example: 4 credits at grade point 9 and 3 credits at grade point 8 gives (36 + 24) ÷ 7 = 8.57.
SGPA and CGPA: common questions
What is the difference between SGPA and CGPA?
SGPA is your average for one semester. CGPA is your average across all the semesters you have completed so far.
How do I calculate SGPA?
Multiply each subject's credits by the grade point you earned, add those together, and divide by the total credits for that semester.
Can I just average my SGPAs to get my CGPA?
Only if every semester has the same number of credits. Otherwise use a credit-weighted average, which is what this calculator does.
Does this work for every university?
It uses the standard credit-weighted method on a 10-point scale, which many Indian universities follow. Your university's result is the official one, as grading rules can differ.
